About Round Here
Round Here is a free, plain-text local directory, built to be quick on a phone and easy to read when the mobile signal is patchy. Search by name, street, service or phone number, pick a day to see who's open, or filter by type of business.
Who runs Round Here
I'm Les Sloane, a semi-retired 60-year-old who lives and works in Gippsland. I started Round Here to make life easier for people who aren't into technology, and to help everyone find the service they need without scrolling past ads and out-of-date pages. No logins, no apps to download, just names, numbers and opening hours.
Every listing is free, and I visit businesses to check their details. If something's wrong, call or text me on 0455 233 355 and I'll fix it.
Get your business listed
Listings are free. Every local business is welcome, including home-based tradies and market stallholders who aren't on Google.
Tell locals what you do
Each listing can have a few lines, in your own words, saying what you do. It doesn't need to be long or fancy. Three or four plain sentences is plenty, and up to 150 words is the most. Whatever you write is included when people search, so someone typing "trailer repairs" or "gluten free" can find you.
Not sure what to say? Just answer these:
- What do you do?
- Where do you work, or which towns do you cover?
- What are you good at, or known for?
- Anything handy for customers to know (bookings, cash only, call-outs, parking)?
- Optional: is it easy to get into, with step-free entry or parking out front? If so we can add a Wheelchair access tag. If not, just leave it out.
Here are some made-up examples:
Mechanic: Family-run workshop in Maffra. We service cars, 4WDs, utes and farm vehicles, and do brakes, tyres and roadworthies. We can usually fit in urgent jobs the same day. Ring ahead for a loan car.
Cafe: Coffee, toasties and homemade cakes on the main street. Gluten-free options every day, dogs welcome on the deck, and plenty of room to park a caravan out the back.
Tradie: Local electrician covering Heyfield, Maffra and Sale. Repairs, new power points, lighting and safety switches. Fully licensed and insured. Text me and I'll get back to you the same day.
Rather not write it? Call or text Les, tell him what you do, and he'll write it up and read it back to you before it goes on.

Want Round Here in your postcode?
Round Here grows one postcode at a time, and the towns people ask for most go next. Tell us your postcode and we will count your vote. It is free, and it only takes a minute.
Don't want to be listed?
Every business can opt out. On your listing, choose Remove my listing (opt out) under Update this listing, or call or text Les. Listings are removed within two days of the request, and are not added back.
How listings are checked
Details were first gathered from public listings in October 2026. Each business is then visited to confirm their details, and confirmed listings say so. Paid features, if any, are always labelled.
